02.24.2008 - KA Koyote test
Strong and gusty winds allowed for three hardcore Cabrillo Beach test days on the 2008 Koyote. The verdict? These sails combine a very balanced feel with outstanding speed for a no-cam sail. The 5.3 hit 42 Knots on the GPS. A bonus is the new bullet proof, all-X-Ply construction. Contact your local Team rider to demo the Koyote for yourself!

Design, a word (or 2) from Amac:
The 2007 were great, but some sizes were greater than others. This design focus this year was to smooth up the range to get consistent performance in all sizes. We graphed every parameter and shape for each sail size. We then took all the feedback and analyzed against the graphs and find the anomalies to learn what was making some sizes better. With this we created mathematical equations to create the new parameters (about 130 of them!) in the sails. We had to rewrite the McSail design software to create these sails! The result was astonishing with a new level of performance and smoothness. In the words of Chris Lockwood "Same grunt, more smooth: therefore

09.07.2007 - Last demo day with 2007 sails -- what Windsurfers have to say
Koyote 6.6
= David S: Great sail, lots of power, very LIGHT and NICE ROTATION, good allround sail;
= Mark K: Love that it rigs on a 430! Nice touch the boom length reduction, doesn't max out the slalom boom that way!
= Chris C: Balanced, early planing, fast! Light feel, nice!
= Markus K: Wicked sail, never thought a 6.6 could feel so small, the best surprise of the bunch, second only to the 5.8 Kult
= Ron M: Great sail, I want a 7.2 of this size as I'm a bit heavier than most, get me one!

Kult 5.8
= Chris C: Excellent low end, light and balanced, great for freestyle!! Would buy!
= Markus K: My favorite together with the 5.3 Kult; avoid white sleeve in future as it stains too easily, love black color tho - looks hot!! Great jumper and gyber, rips in light or heavier wind giving great range, never changed rigs with 10 knots wind diff.

Kult 5.3
= Markus K: It was so stable and managed to get powered in marginal wind that I tried my first forward loop with this rig, great rotation and light feel, wonderful sail! Fast, when powered properly it just rips along, takes some fiddling with the set up to get it right but then bliss. The window could be larger to see through with this smaller size, a set window would be great, the reinforced panels are not transparent enough, tough to read the waves/chop that way. Otherwise awesome!!

Koncept 7.5
= Walt H: Good power out of the holes; very powerful and super stable
= Chris C: Mast too soft (PWX, 75%) for my weight - 200lbs, very powerful though!
= Markus K: Fun rippin' when everyone else is sloggin' or sittin' on the beach; passing everybody in sight even underpowered!

Kaos 5.7
= Markus K: Super grunty if a bit slow, only slowly planes up in marginal conditions, doesn't pump well, clew doesn't clear well once down for some reason, decent range and great colors (Orange/white)
= Chris C: Slow to plane, felt mushy, KA mast felt too soft for my weight, went back to Kult 5.8 and preferred THAT in same wind, planing right away

Kaos 5.0
= Markus K: Fun sail with huge range!!, great jumper and gyber but lacked sheet-out ability on waveface (well, some guys were on 3.3-3.7's @ this time and I was gettin' a bit worked, Doug's at the Gorge with huge gusts and lulls), though decent low end, guess it's tough to get both. Love the craftmanship, larger sails MUST have the strap-on loop for rolling up! But it's nice to have on the smaller stuff too, which this one didn't; blue a surprisingly nice color with this layout, usually don't go for blue

08.14.2007 - Canada Windfest news
Windfest was great, thanks for the great package, had fun with demos, too bad the rain started on race day so some of the races didn't run well. <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> <<...>> KA is getting on the map.
6.6 Koyote Very fast, easy rig, light, small feel and powerful sail, I was surprised as were others that tried it.
We had also the best sailor around here on the 5.8 Kult (see pics)

Thanks, having fun. The prizes were a major hit, didn't know you guys were sending carbon downhauls! . The Koncept 7.5 and 6.6 were rockets!!! Easy to rig too, even the cammed one.

06.17.2007 - Koncept wins regatta . . . on a longboard!
That's right! Our own team rider, Ryan, won the long-distance longboard class race at the recent "Not In My Backyard" regatta held this year in Port St. Joe, Florida. Ryan credits the powerful and fast Koncept 9.0 for pulling him to victory in the annual travelling regatta put on by the Shell Point Sailboard Club. He won the 5+mile race despite the local veteran racers and having not sailed a longboard in over 3 years! "This sail is quickly becoming my new favorite for lighter winds, and I'm amazed at how easy it is to handle when the wind picks up . . . Just awesome performance!," says Ryan. "I think the other competitors took note of the new sail on the block. It may just be an all-Koncept field next time!" he adds with a grin. Reports say a storm picked up just as the starting horn went off, so the pack was in for some serious longboard racing, reaching speeds in the 20-25 knott range. Wow! Congratulations Ryan!

06.15.2007 - Koncept sail is super easy, super fast!
Hit 38.7mph/33.63knots on the 6.6 Koncept today in gusty and choppy conditions. Each time I get the 6.6 out I have a great time on it and am impressed with it's handling - especially draft control. The sail tunes easily and really drives hard when you'd expect the draft to slide in the gusts. Was poised for 40 today, but the wind died. Bummer. Next time! - David, WindsurfDeal team rider

Koncept super easy super fast here we go

05.29.2007 - 6.6 Koncept -- early planing, super fast!
The KA Koncept 6.6 is nice. Great low end pull with solid high end handling. I've been up to 40 mph with the 6.6 and it handles great. Can't go any faster until I get a smaller fin(s) for the board. I'll probably have to get a 5.8 sooner or later to get the board into the mid 40's. ;-) Here's a shot - just under 40mph in mild chop on the 6.6 - David, WindsurfDeal team rider

04.24.2007 - Saylorville Windsurf Regatta & Dam Jam
Hello all wind junkies out there.

Here is some clarification on some of your questions for the Saylorville Windsurf Regatta & Dam Jam as well as some more details in general with our current conditions at the lake down in Des Moines, we are looking forward to a great event.

The water level at Saylorville Lake is way above normal right now. What this means is that we will not have access to our normally 300 yards by 200 yards wide beach access at Oak Grove. Same goes for Cherry Glen lower level which is just about the same size a quarter mile further south on the lake, Cherry Glen's upper boat launch is open though. These are the two lake access points we would be located at on with normal water levels.

Due to the hight water level these lower beaches are under 8ft of water and we will setup the event "headquarters" at the Prairie flower campground (higher ground) just above Oak Grove's normal beach access. Kiters should be able to launch from the upper Cherry Glen access point (Alfie can verify this), windsurfers will be fine to launch from the Prairie flower camp ground. (normally a 300 yard walk down to the beach, now only 150)

Also we have a gotten two permits for the windsurfing event, the backup site for the windsurfing races is located at Big Creek Lake (constant water level) a 10 min drive from the main event site. This is also a great site but not good for kiters and windsurfers in large numbers to co-exist on. (similar to Worthington). We will use this for windsurfing racing in case there is to much debris floating around on the big lake. Usually the debris stays on the shores if the wind have come from the same direction for a few days, but a wind shift timed wrong with water rising could bring it out again, then we will use the backup lake.

There will be no official event for the kiters, however we want everyone to enjoy the wind and water as well as come to party together.
We encourage everyone to register for the event, the $35 registration includes DAM JAM t-shirt, lunch saturday and Sunday, Pot luck BBQ (bring a side dish) Saturday night, w/ party as well as chances to win some of our great door and raffle prizes as well. (inkluding windsurfing sails, and lots of other nice gear)

Seveal people will be there from Thursday night camping, the official event registration starts Friday from noon- 7PM
Saturday late registration in the morining with windsurfing course racing and/or slalom racing starting shortly thereafter. Sunday will be more racing and awards wrapped up at 4.

We will have "Dam Jam" signs posted for you to find the way to both the campground and registration.

Hope to see lots of people out there, feel free to post any additional questions here or email me at ujentler@...

For those of you who have not booked campsite yet, this link will take you there.

Some pictrures of the "normal" beach access can be found here.

05.15.2006 - Windsurfdeal Rips at Lake "Izzy"
The WindsurfDeal team just returned from an epic weekend of high-wind gear testing at Lake Isabella, CA! Winds at the "Ghetto" were blasting up to 23 mph with gusts as high as 35!! We tested the KA Kaos 5.0, Kontrol 5.9, and Koncept 6.6 sails as well as CrazyFly's 95L and 120L boards. Excellent results overall: the sails proved to have a very tunable wide wind range as advertised, and the boards just ripped! We were kicking ourselves for not bringing a GPS unit, because especially with the Koncept 6.6 and 95L board we were making some astoundingly fast passes. While the 95L board blasted through the chop with ease, the 120L proved almost as nimble, but even easier to chop hop! We had a blast and were once again thoroughly impressed with the performance of our equipment.
Meet us wherever we sail to demo our sails, boards, masts, booms, and all our gear! contact us for more demo info.
